Beginning of sesame planting in Hormozgan

The director of agriculture of Hormozgan Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization said: sesame planting started in 1,200 hectares of agricultural lands in Hormozgan.

Amirizadeh announced that it is expected to harvest 1,200 tons of sesame this year, adding: Hajiabad, Rudan, Minab and Parsian counties are important sesame cultivation areas in Hormozgan.

The director of agriculture of Hormozgan Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization added: the harvested sesame will be sent to Bastak and Bandar Abbas oil mills and the surplus will be sent to Yazd and Mashhad provinces.

He said that sesame planting continues until mid-August and its harvest is from late October to mid-November, he added: sesame seeds are white, gray and black colors, the white type of these seeds are the best.
