Beginning of summer onion harvest from Azarshahr farms

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Azarshahr city announced the beginning of summer onion harvest from the farms of this city.

Firooz Tolouhiyat added: about 430 hectares of agricultural lands in the city have been allocated for onion cultivation.

He said: the time of harvesting summer onions starts from August and autumn from October, when the average yield per hectare is 42 tons.

The director of Jihad-e-Agriculture of Azarshahr city pointed out: although the amount of summer onion harvest is less than last year, but due to the reduction of chemical fertilizers, the quality of onions produced is better than in previous years.

Tolouhiyat said that providing expert and technical services to onion farmers, holding training courses and continuous monitoring of how to use the required fertilizers and pesticides are the support of Jihad-e-Keshavarzi from onion growers.
