Beginning of walnut harvest in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad
Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Deputy Minister of Crop Production Improvement, said: This province is one of the provinces that due to suitable weather conditions and good climatic conditions, the garden products of this province will be several times more than last year.
Reza Enayati added: the area under cultivation of the province’s orchards is 43,000 hectares, of which walnuts, apples, grapes and olives are among these products and are currently being harvested.
He stated that the walnut harvest has started in the province, he said: over 10,000 hectares of walnut cultivation area is throughout the province, which is expected to harvest 18,000 tons of walnuts this year.
Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Deputy Minister of Crop Production Improvement, said: Walnut harvest has increased by 2 to 3 percent compared to the same period last year.
Enayati added: a large part of the province’s walnuts are sent to neighboring provinces such as Fars, Isfahan and more to Khuzestan.
