The head of Sisab Research Center of North Khorasan Agricultural Jihad said: Black cumin (Bunium Persicum) is an effective plant to stimulate the appetite at the dawn of the holy month of Ramadan.
Dr. Ali Akbar Ameri added: Black cumin can be very effective because it stimulates the secretion of gastric glands and stimulates appetite for those who are anorexic at the time of dawn in the holy month of Ramadan and do not have proper nutrition.
He added: This plant also strengthens the stomach and anti-flatulence. According to the head of the Sisab Research Center of the North Khorasan Agricultural Jihad, this plant is also used as a seasoning and spice in the food industry.
He emphasized: this plant should be kept in colored glass containers and should be kept in plastic containers because the essential oil of this plant eats this type of containers.
He also said about how to consume and make cumin tea: on one to five grams of crushed cumin, pour a glass or a glass of boiling water and leave it for about 15 minutes, then strain it and then sip.
The head of the Sisab Research Center of the North Khorasan Agricultural Jihad, pointing out that the black cumin plant grows in the heights of this province in summer, added: This plant is a herbaceous and biennial plant with a height of 60 cm with hollow and grooved stems that Its leaves have many cuts.
He continued: The flowers of this plant are small, white and sometimes pink, which can be seen as a complex umbrella complex. He stated that all parts of the cumin plant have a good and fragrant smell: the part used by this fruit plant is that many direct uses are made of it or its essential oil.
Ameri explained that this plant has three to seven percent of essential oil: Most of the time, the seeds of the cumin plant are harvested before they are fully ripe, in which case, it will have a high percentage of essential oil.
He stated: This plant is composed of 65% of essential oil of Karun, 50% of essential oil of limonine, 10 to 20% of essential oil, 20% of protein and 20% of sugar and flavonoids.
