Black tea contains potassium manganese and flavonoids
A nutritionist in the United States emphasizes that black tea contains manganese and potassium, and therefore plays a role in physical growth and maintaining fluid balance in the body.
According to United Press, Phil Lampert, a food analyst, believes that black tea lovers are less likely to develop vascular diseases.
He emphasizes that black tea also lowers blood pressure. Tea also contains flavonoids, a powerful antioxidant that fights free radicals and prevents cell damage and aging.
Flavonoids also prevent the oxidation of bad cholesterol and prevent inflammation of blood vessels and the formation of blood clots in the arteries, says Lampert. According to this expert, black tea also contains natural fluoride, which helps strengthen tooth enamel and reduces dental plaque. Tea also contains one-half the caffeine in coffee.
Lampert recommends avoiding tea with artificial flavors or sugar.
