Bukan handmade carpet export for $ 29 million
Hesam Sadeghi said: “In order to implement the policies of the resistance economy and pay attention to domestic products, this year Bukan hand-woven carpets and rugs have been exported to European countries such as Germany, Italy, Canada, USA, Japan and Arab countries bordering the Persian Gulf.”
He continued: “In this city, 17,000 carpet weavers are engaged in carpet production and these people produce more than 45,000 square meters of carpets annually.”
Sadeghi stated that Bukan city is one of the important poles in the field of Afshar carpet production in the country, adding that most of the carpets produced in the country are for domestic consumption and are exported to other provinces of the country.
He said: “Hand-woven carpets are a relative advantage and the only indigenous industry in the country that can have good effects on job creation, currency exchange, social security and prevention of rural migration.”
The head of the handmade carpet union of Bukan city continued: to support the carpet industry in Bukan city, a marketing training workshop and market management has been held for the activists of this industry.
