Buy 20,000 tons of dates from Shadegan groves
The head of Shadegan Agricultural Jihad, stating that the date harvest has started since mid-September, said: So far, 20,000 tons of dates have been purchased from the groves of Shadegan.
Hamid Matroudi stated: The date harvesting operation will continue until the 10th of October.
He added: the first grade dates of this city with a price of 620 Tomans per kilo and second grade dates with a price of 540 Tomans are purchased from the farmers by agreement.
Matroudi stated: In the city, different varieties of dates are produced, including Colonial, Gentar, Halawi, Barhi and Diri.
He stated: At present, there are 20 date packing workshops in Shadegan and the date purchase operation is being carried out by these workshops.
Matroudi continued: The area of arable land in the city will reach 13 hectares and our forecast is that 60,000 tons of dates will be harvested from groves this year.
He added: The level of harvest and production of dates has increased compared to last year, and the supply of adequate and sufficient water for palm lands is a factor in production growth. Of course, this year some of the palms have been damaged due to the occurrence of drought, water salinity and dust, which we expect the insurance fund to act quickly in compensating farmers.
