Caviar exports are falling downhill
During the years 1383 to 1388, the largest decrease in the weight and value of caviar exports was in the first 10 months of this year. .
Also, caviar in 2004 with 0.23% had the highest share and in 10 months of 2009 with 0.01% had the lowest share of the country’s export value.
Examining the price trend chart of each kilogram of caviar exports during the years 1383 to 10 months of 1388 also indicates a significant increase in the price of this commodity. However, exports of this product have fallen sharply.
Accordingly, in 2005, despite the increase of about 160% in the price of caviar compared to 1383, the weight and export value of this product has been greatly reduced. This decrease in the weight and value of exports, despite the increase in prices, has also occurred in 2008 and 10 months of this year.
* Caviar is not exported directly
According to the Office of Statistics and Information Technology and Customs Communications of the country, it is interesting to note that in the first 10 months of this year, caviar was not exported directly and all caviar in the country was sold in free stores. During this period, the export of this goods has been done only as a passenger goods and only from the customs of the two commercial areas of Imam Khomeini Airport.
The three major countries each year have always accounted for more than 60% of the weight and value of exports of this commodity.
Also, except in the first 10 months of 2009, Germany has always been the first importer of caviar from our country in other years.

Accordingly, the amount of caviar exports in 1383, 38 tons and 387 kg worth 190 billion rials and the price of each kilogram of caviar was about five million rials.
This amount of exports in 1384, 9 tons and 124 kg worth 118 billion rials and the price of each kilogram of caviar was more than 13 million rials, which compared to 1383 in terms of weight and value decreased by 76 and 41 percent, respectively.
In 2006, 9 tons and 985 kilograms of caviar worth 125 billion rials were exported and the price of each kilogram of caviar was more than 12 million rials.
This amount of exports in 2006, compared to 2005 in terms of weight and value had increased by 9 and 4 percent, respectively.
In 2007, the amount of caviar exports from Iran was six tons and 568 kilograms worth 133 billion rials, each kilogram of which was worth more than 20 million rials.
In this year, the amount of caviar exports in terms of weight and value decreased by 33% and increased by 4%, respectively, but in 2008 both figures decreased.
In 1387, the amount of caviar exports compared to 1386 in terms of weight and value decreased by 63 and 35%, respectively. This was while the price of each kilogram of caviar had increased to 37 million rials.
This year, two tons and 399 kilograms of caviar worth 89 billion rials were exported.
Accordingly, the amount of caviar exports in the first 10 months of this year was 344 kg worth 18 billion rials, the price of each kilogram of caviar had increased to 54 million dollars.
This statistic shows that the amount of caviar exports this year compared to 1387, in terms of weight and value have decreased by 85 and 79 percent, respectively.
