Chamomile for the treatment of microbial and non-microbial inflammation of the skin
The expert of medicinal plants of Semnan province said: chamomile products are used to treat microbial and non-microbial inflammations of the skin, such as healing wounds, abscesses, pimples and inflammations of the oral cavity.
Hamid Reza Abdous considered the treatment of skin allergies caused by radiation and skin disorders as other uses of this medicinal plant and added: The part used by the dried flower chamomile plant is used in skin inflammations and redness of the skin as a poultice, bath and ointment. .
He continued: Chamomile has a local anti-inflammatory effect, this effect has been observed both from total alcoholic extract and its isolated components, and these substances have been tested using standard pharmacological models of inflammation and using topical administration.
The head of Mahdishahr Natural Resources and Watershed Management Department said: Among the official medicines available in Iran, we can mention the complete cream for the treatment of skin inflammations, skin irritations caused by superficial scratches and cuts, dryness and cracking of the skin, and the incense powder (acne cure).
Emphasizing the antibacterial and antifungal effects (mainly against gram-positive organisms and albicans candida) of chamomile products, Abdous continued: Topical application of chamomile products can have a positive therapeutic effect on infected wounds.
