Clustering of golden rice stalks in 70% of paddy fields

The deputy director of crop production improvement of Gilan Jihad Agricultural Organization said: clustering has been observed in 70% of Guilan paddy fields.

Habib Jahansaz said: Gilan has 238,000 hectares of paddy lands and so far 70% of these paddy fields have been clustered.

He pointed out that rice harvesting has been done on a case-by-case basis in the province, adding: Due to the recent rains, this year’s rice harvest time started a little later than last year.

Jahansaz announced the forecast of increasing rice production this year and noted: the final amount of rice production in the province will be announced in the near future.

Gilan Jihad Agricultural Organization Deputy for Plant Production Improvement stated: Mechanized harvesting will reduce the costs of white rice production and with the plans that have been made, this year we will see an increase in mechanized rice harvesting in Gilan.

Khaksar, Director General of Cereals and Basic Products of the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture, pointed to the successful implementation of joint rice projects in the country and said: .

He pointed out: Many farmers, seeing different functions in the fields of their kind, made the choice.

Khaksar stated: Participatory projects (research-extension) in Mazandaran had good performances and we hope to be well received by farmers in Gilan and other provinces.
