One of the problems in the field of dates is the packaging industry, he said. Dates can be marketed in much better packaging so that people can use them. Currently, there are several units in Khuzestan that supply cut dates, but this number is not enough. Of course, factories do not do packing until they have a customer, and factories do not produce until people welcome a product.
The director of food supervision of Khuzestan Health Center said: one million tons of dates are produced annually in the country, of which 10% is exported, 50% is consumed and 40% is waste. It is hoped that with this conference something can be done to use the waste as well.
There are also problems with date marketing, said the executive secretary of the National Conference on Dates and Food Security. Iranian dates are exported in bulk, the income of which is not very suitable.
He added: In this conference, 10 booths are intended for licensed factories, and two booths are dedicated to handicrafts and tropical fruits research center, and three workshops will be held on the sidelines of the conference.
