Cultivation of 400 hectares of cumin in Anabd agro-industrial lands
Ahmad Herati said: Cumin is a medicinal plant with low water requirements and high economic efficiency, and for this reason, this product has always been considered as one of the items in the cultivation pattern of this cultivation and industry.
He continued: This product has a very low water requirement, so that its water requirement is only about 3,500 cubic meters per hectare.
The director of Anabod agro-industry, stating that the native cultivars of Anabed region have been used in cumin cultivation this year, added: This year’s cultivation started in late November and will continue until the end of January.
Herati continued: This year, in order to increase the production efficiency, more than 18 types of seed treatments have been carried out and cultivated as a research project, so that after the completion of the project, the results will be used at the farm level.
He added: In this regard, and to carry out the mentioned plan, Anabad Agriculture and Industry has concluded a contract with the Seed and Seedling Research and Information Institute of the country.
Director of Anabod Agriculture and Industry, referring to the fact that cumin is a medicinal plant, said: The field of export of this product is high and on the other hand, in order to make optimal use of water and soil resources in autumn crops, it is more economical.
Herati mentioned the use of the best seeds in terms of quality and quantity for cultivation as one of the strengths of this year’s crop of crop and industry.
He continued: The harvest of this product will be done in the middle of May of next year, and considering that it is done by human resources, this will create employment for about 10 thousand people in 20 days.
The director of Anabod Agriculture and Industry said about the irrigation method of these lands: the lands allocated to cumin cultivation are irrigated in a row, which is suitable for this plant.
