The Director General of Natural Resources and Watershed Management announced the cultivation of 400 hectares of rain-fed almond species in Lorestan.

Shirzad Najafi during the visit of Lorestan governor to the almond cultivation project in Razan region of Khorramabad city said: for the first time in the province, dryland almond cultivation has been carried out in an area of 400 hectares.

He continued: Rainfed species do not need water and after two years are transplanted with sweet almonds.

The official noted: After a while, this area will be handed over to the indigenous people of the region to create jobs, and we hope to be able to take a step towards eliminating unemployment in the region.

Najafi added: Last year, planting operations were carried out with almond, Estahban, Mohammadi and economic varieties at the level of 1400 hectares, which are currently growing and of good quality.

The Director General of Natural Resources and Watershed Management, while appreciating and thanking the support and attention of the Governor of Lorestan to national and natural areas, said: It becomes.

He stated: The almond cultivation project of Razan and Meleh Sorkheh area with an area of ??400 hectares was implemented last year by the order of Dr. Khademi, the governor of Lorestan.
