Cultivation of 4000 hectares of rice seedlings in Lorestan
The director of agriculture of the Jihad Agricultural Organization announced the cultivation of 4,000 hectares of rice seedlings in Lorestan.
Dr. Kianoosh Hamidian, referring to the beginning of planting seedlings in the province, said: Currently, planting seedlings has started in the paddy fields of Lorestan and will continue until June 10th.
He continued: This amount of seedlings will be planted in 3500 to 4000 hectares of paddy fields in the province and we anticipate that about 18 thousand tons of paddy will be harvested from them.
Hamidian stated that the highest amount of planting is related to Chegni, Khorramabad, Doroud and Boroujerd counties and added: In the past, we had restrictions for planting hydrophilic crops, but now this issue is in the hands of the regional water company of the province.
The director of agriculture of Lorestan Jihad Agricultural Organization said: this company determines the amount of planting and controls its volume based on the license that it issues to individuals.
He said that the Jihad Agricultural Organization supervises the cultivation of crops by providing a cultivation model for farmers, adding: This organization has no legal leverage to deal with it and can only promote the cultivation of crops. In the cities of Chegni and Khorramabad, local black cumin cultivar is cultivated. We also see pollen cultivation in Doroud and Boroujerd.
The director of agriculture of Lorestan Agricultural Jihad Organization reminded: planting along rivers and supervising them is the responsibility of planting water in the regions of the province.
