Cultivation of more than 910 hectares of onions in agricultural lands of Mashhad

The director of Mashhad Agricultural Jihad said: At the beginning of 1399, more than 910 hectares of onions were planted in Mashhad agricultural lands.

Omid Tahmasebizadeh, director of Mashhad Agricultural Jihad, said: Considering the importance of onions production in the food industry and as one of the important items in the household food basket, the possibility of processing and using its products in factories and its side uses even as a medicinal plant And with the efforts of farmers, onions planting operations have been carried out in 910 hectares of agricultural lands.

He specified: in the year named as the leap of production, by taking the necessary measures, double attention should be paid to the agro-industry, production and supply of necessary resources and equipment.

The director of Mashhad Agricultural Jihad said: Onions product is of special importance in micro and macro economy and the activity of economic enterprises, factories and increasing job creation.

He added: Of this area, 70 hectares are in the form of seedlings, which in addition to meeting the needs of the city, the surplus can be processed in factories in various ways.

Tahmasebizadeh added: Considering the potential and opportunities in Mashhad, such as land, water, necessary facilities and equipment, and economic justification in the cost of farmers and return on investment, necessary and desirable planning should be done.
