These include the development of Damask rose cultivation; In fact, Damask rose shrubs are unpredictable and very hardy, have high adaptation to adverse climatic and soil conditions and also show high resistance to water shortage.
He added: Horticulture management of Zanjan Jihad Agricultural Organization during the last four years, by directing and targeting seedling subsidies and extension measures and appropriate executive programs, has been able to tips on planting, holding, harvesting and processing, as well as advantages such as sustainable employment and value. Inform the target group and farmers about the high export of this product. So far, Damask rose cultivation has been very well received by farmers in different parts of the province.
Ojaqloo stated that 167,000 subsidized Damask rose seedlings have been distributed among the applicants in the cities of Zanjan province this year, adding: the cultivation of this number of seedlings has led to the construction of about 100 hectares of Damask rose in Golestan province. Also, at present, the area of fruit orchards in the province is about 30 hectares, which considering the average yield of this product, it is predicted that about 80 tons of fresh produce from these orchards will be sent to processing units and markets.
The director of horticulture affairs of Zanjan Jihad Agricultural Organization emphasized that Damask rose harvest depends on weather conditions and will continue from the second half of May to the end of June, reminded: Damask rose yield in the province is 2.7 tons on average It is in hectares and due to the seriousness in the field of promotion and executive programs in the province, it is predicted that the area under cultivation of Damask rose will increase significantly in the coming years in Zanjan province.
He pointed out that the Damask rose plant grows well in foothill areas with poor soil with medium texture or pebbles, noting that about 30 hectares of this year’s crop development in the province in sloping and dry lands of Amand and Mari villages It took place in Zanjan city.
