Date extract prevents microbial growth and tooth decay
Date extract prevents microbial growth and tooth decay.
A group of researchers from Shiraz, Yasuj and Kazerun Azad Universities of Medical Sciences studied the effect of date extract on microbial growth (Streptococcus mutenes) in the laboratory and found: Adding date extract to the culture medium prevents the growth of this type of microbe.
According to this study, researchers believe that dates are a food that prevents caries.
It should be noted that, due to the sugar in dates, more research is needed for the practical application of these findings in laboratory animals and humans.
