Naqiaei also mentioned 2.5% protein, 7.57 g of dietary fiber, 1 mg of iron, potassium, vitamin A, beta-carotene, 41 mg of calcium, 577 mg of phosphorus as other components of dates. Having a significant amount of dietary fiber is effective in preventing gastrointestinal cancers, especially colon cancer, and also reducing blood lipids.
He added: Today, dates are known to be effective in preventing iron deficiency, because the amount of iron in dates reaches one milligram per one hundred grams, which is a significant amount compared to other foods.
Referring to the amount of potassium in dates, Naqiaei said: For this reason, eating dates also improves cardiovascular diseases.
