The background of the Caucasian design is woven with triangular and quadrangular patterns that are symmetrical. The decorative design of the carpet on the Iranian carpet of the Caucasian type has borders with a wide geometric design and the narrow borders are woven with a flower and khatai design in it.
Other features of the Caucasian design include elastic instead of bergamot in its texture and design.
