The director of Joybar Agricultural Jihad announced the beginning of the distribution of 75 tons of certified Hashemi and Shiroodi rice seeds among the farmers of this city.

Gholamreza Saeedi, referring to the beginning of the distribution of 75 tons of certified Hashemi and Shiroodi rice seeds among farmers in the city of Joybar, said: The distribution of certified seeds began in early March and continues.

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Joybar city added: for each hectare of rice cultivated lands in this region, 50 kilograms of Hashemi modified seeds will be allocated at a price of 195,000 Rials per kilogram.

He mentioned the length of growth and resistance to pests and diseases as the characteristics of this certified seed and noted: We try to maintain the main quality of Hashemi rice cultivar in the city by distributing this seed.

Saeedi announced and reminded that the area under rice cultivation in the region is 10,200 hectares: so far, the project of equipping and renovating the lands in 4,300 hectares of agricultural land in the region has been done.

He said that by the end of this year and next year, this project will be operational in 80 hectares of land in the region, he said: about 5,500 hectares of land in this city, have the ability to implement this project.

The director of Joybar Agricultural Jihad mentioned the development of rice mechanization, improving water supply to farms, easier access to farms, reducing production costs, preventing water wastage and creating roads between farms as the objectives of the land equipping and renovation project and reminded: plowing Winter is also practiced by farmers in the paddy lands of this city.

Saeedi stated that winter plowing has been done in 55% of the region’s lands so far: saving agricultural water consumption, eliminating pests and weeds, enriching and preparing rice fields and soil fertility are among the goals. It is a winter plowing that continues until the rice is planted in the new crop season (late April of next year) on the agricultural lands of the region.

According to the public relations of Mazandaran Agricultural Jihad Organization, he stated that Tarom, Hashemi, Shiroodi, Fajr, Neda and local cultivars are among the most important rice cultivars in Joybar city. About 4,500 kilograms of paddy is produced and 60% of this amount is turned into white rice.
