Seyyed Yaghoub Mousavi added: Harvesting of early date cultivars including Al-Mehtari, Shokri and Negar in 1500 hectares of orchards in the south of Kerman started in the first half of July and will continue until the end of November with the harvest of late cultivars such as Halileh and Mardasang.

Mousavi added: Early dates in this region are eaten fresh and are sent to neighboring provinces.

The head of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of South Kerman stated: Harvesting of other commercial cultivars, including Mazafati and Kloteh, at the level of 30,000 hectares, will start in the second half of August and it is expected that about 190,000 tons of dates will be produced and sent to domestic and foreign markets, including Central Asian countries. For Russia and Azerbaijan, Southeast Asia includes China, India, Afghanistan and Europe.

He pointed out: The dates of this region are completely organic and are produced without the use of any chemical toxins and have a unique taste in the world. South Kerman ranks first in production and second in the area under date cultivation in the country.
