Early harvest of dates in Bashagard
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Bashagard city said: the harvest of early date cultivars has started from 700 hectares of groves in Bashagard.
Mohammad Ahmadi added: it is predicted that more than 2100 tons of dates will be harvested. It seems that compared to last year, due to weather conditions, there will be no change in production.
He pointed out: Kriteh and Mohammadi dates are early varieties and are currently being harvested fresh (Rotab). The harvested product is sold in Minab and Jask markets at a price of 2500 Tomans. Mazafati and Halili cultivars are also among the products of Deirs in Bashagard.
Ahmadi pointed out that the lack of packaging and conversion industries is one of the most important problems of Bashagard palm farmers, and said: if the infrastructure of conversion industries is created in this region, Bashagard dates will be able to be exported to different countries.
He reminded: the harvest time of dates starts from July and continues until the end of September.
