The head of the Kerman Province Date Association said: Every year, about 15% of the dates produced in Kerman Province are exported, which is the opposite of the province’s pistachio exports, because pistachios are consumed only 10% annually and 90% are exported.

Mohsen Rashid Farokhi in the meeting to review issues related to the export of dates in Kerman province, which was held in the Chamber of Commerce of the province, said: to facilitate the export of this product, the status of payment of facilities by operating banks should be determined.

He said that Kerman province has an influential role in the production and export of Iranian dates, adding: the annual production of dates in Kerman province is on average 300 thousand tons, which accounts for more than a quarter of the production of one million tons of dates in the country.

Rashid Farokhi stated: So far, 15% of the 150 billion Rials quota of obligatory facilities has been absorbed in Kerman province, and we want to facilitate the banking regulations to attract the rest of these facilities.

He called Iran the third largest producer of dates in the world after Egypt and the UAE, and said: Considering the increase in transportation costs, product delivery time and time-consuming return of money, the conditions for exporting dates should be easier for exporters so that markets Do not miss the world.

Rashid Farokhi pointed out: 60% of the world’s dates are consumed during the holy month of Ramadan. Due to the simultaneous sale of last year’s date crop and New Year’s date harvest, the date seller is forced to sleep for 12 months to provide conditions for its sale.
