Delavar Haidarpour pointed to the development of a rice self-reliance plan to get out of the problems of the agricultural sector and added: In this project, good solutions have been provided to get out of the problems of the agricultural sector, especially rice, so that we can produce 80% of rice with a focus on northern provinces. This project has been developed with the cooperation of researchers, experts and experienced farmers so that by implementing new techniques and innovations, we can see maximum productivity in production.

Emphasizing that the plain should not be allowed to be turned into a garden, he said: Rice fields in the northern provinces should be preserved and the preservation of paddy fields is a priority of the Mazandaran Agricultural Jihad Organization, because these rice fields should be dedicated to rice cultivation forever.

He added: Unfortunately, in the last few decades, the change of use of agricultural lands had intensified, which, if it continued, would endanger food security. Fortunately, during the past year, with the cooperation of relevant agencies, we were able to preserve agricultural lands and change unauthorized uses. Severely hit.

The head of the Mazandaran Agricultural Jihad Organization continued: There are areas in the upstream areas and sloping lands where it is not possible to cultivate rice, but it can be turned into a garden. Mazandaran Agricultural Jihad will provide the necessary support in these areas to create gardens to prevent water and soil erosion and to create jobs and economic prosperity.

He added: Given the high level of expectations in life, agricultural work may not be satisfactory for activists in this sector, and this will not be a reason that agriculture is not economic. Agriculture will have an economic justification and increase its income by increasing its yield. Investing in sectors other than agriculture is time consuming and costly. If we increase the productivity of production, the transfer of knowledge and the skill level of farmers, farmers with more knowledge can increase production.

Haidarpour, pointing out that the second and third crops or types of cultivation in different seasons can be profitable for farmers, added: Mazandaran climate and geographical climate is such that there is a possibility of several crops in agricultural fields. This makes agriculture affordable for farmers and they have a high income.

Haidarpour added: This year, 20 to 25 percent of agricultural lands have been mechanized, transplanting and more than 60 to 65 percent of rice harvests and 100 percent of threshing have been done mechanized. Also, 70 to 75% of rice harvest in the next crop year will be done mechanized with special rice harvesters. This year, 37 billion tomans have been allocated to the agricultural sector to buy machinery, which has been absorbed.
