Emphasis on the global registration of Tabriz handmade carpet industry art
Younes Jaileh, stating that the art-industry of Tabriz handmade carpets should be registered in the world in order to prevent its copying in the world market, continues: The Chamber of Commerce supports this action and internet marketing and international sales of carpets.
The director general of East Azerbaijan Social Security also says that there are about 50,000 single-weave carpet weavers in the province who pay their insurance.
Jafar Samsari announces the readiness of the General Directorate to support carpet weavers and to facilitate the re-establishment of carpet weavers’ insurance.
The head of the East Azerbaijan Handmade Carpet Manufacturers Union also says that the production of handmade carpets has the highest employment rate in the province and currently about 200,000 people are directly and indirectly employed in this industry.
Ismail Chamani, stating that 35% of the country’s export carpets are produced in this province, adds: Despite these statistics, the number of insured carpet weavers in the industry is 12%, which should be about 35% compared to its export share.
Currently, there are no raw materials for the production and weaving of handmade carpets in the province, or if there are, the price has tripled, he said.
Chamani calls for the creation of a solution to supply the raw materials needed by the province’s handmade carpet manufacturers and weavers by the industry’s trustees.
