End of grape harvest from Jahrom vineyards
The director of Jahrom Jihad-e-Agriculture said:
the climatic conditions of Jahrom are such that the harvest from the vineyards producing ruby cultivar has started from the end of the first decade
of June and will continue until the end of July.
Citing the public relations of Jahrom Shahabi Agricultural Jihad, stating that the grape crop of the city is considered a modern crop in Fars province,
he said:
the area under grape cultivation in the city is 3300 hectares with a production of 22,000 tons.
He added:
Of course, in recent years, due to reduced rainfall and water shortages, Jahromi farmers, especially in the Simkan sector,
have built vineyards in order to change the cultivation pattern and in terms of less water needs.
Shahabi added:
The average yield of grapes is 12 tons and Jahrom has the second highest area of ruby grape cultivation in Fars province.
According to him, the grape cultivars cultivated in Jahrom can be called Yaghouti, Askari, Shirazi, Rish Baba, Rutbi, Khalili cultivars.
Shehai added:
Each hectare of grapefruit, according to ancillary industries such as fruit basket production and raisin and grape juice production workshops,
has 6 direct and 20 indirect jobs.
