Exhibition of handicrafts of women heads of households in Rasht
The exhibition of handicrafts of women heads of households of Toshekeh workshop was held in Rasht on the occasion of Women’s Handicrafts Day from June 10 to 17, in line with the project of empowering women heads of households and developing home-based businesses.
Narges Tahmasebi, one of the pioneers of the Economic Empowerment of Women Heads of Households Based on the New Home Business Development Model project, which is being implemented by the Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare and Jihad-e-Daneshgahi. The head of the Toshekeh” workshop said that sewing cloth bags, painting on fabrics, printing batik, making ornamental flowers and silver ornaments, kilims and carpets, etc. are among the other products produced by women heads of households. Handicrafts spin the wheel of a life.
Tahmasebi considered the production of mats, spices and dried aromatic vegetables as another part of the products of this workshop and stated: Toshak workshop space is used as a handicraft sales gallery and it is decided to offer the products at the end of each month. He considered the women working in this workshop as self-employed and heads of households and noted:
the income of this exhibition during the last week has been about 90 million Rials, which shows the ability of our women.
