Existence of 1200 hectares of fertile walnuts in the dynasty
Horticulture expert of Jihad-e-Keshavarzi Selsele reported the existence of 1200 hectares of fertile walnuts in the city.
Ghodrat Hassanvand stated: At present, Selseleh city has 1600 hectares of infertile walnuts that have not yet reached the fertile stage.
He stated that there are 1200 hectares of fertile walnuts in the city, and specified: a walnut seedling reaches the fertile stage after 12 years from the time of planting.
He added: Lands with sandy-loam soil are suitable for planting walnuts and the north of the city (Kahman region) has more such soil.
Horticulture expert of Jihad-e-Keshavarzi Selseleh said: Walnut trees in Kahman region are several hundred years old and some of these trees reach 500 years old.
He added: the existence of walnut orchards in this area and numerous springs has made Kahman one of the tourist areas of the province.
