Export of $ 5 million handmade carpets from Khorasan Razavi

Deputy Minister of Commerce and Trade Development of Khorasan Razavi Industry, Mining and Trade Organization said:
During the first 9 months of this year, 550 tons of handmade carpets worth 5 million and 250 thousand dollars were exported from the province’s customs.

Ali Ghafouri Moghadam, the public relations officer of the Khorasan Razavi Industry, Mining and Trade Organization, said:
This amount of exports includes all kinds of handmade carpets, rugs, etc., which are produced in different sizes and designs, mainly by carpet weavers in the province.

He added that Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Germany, Finland, Austria, Saudi Arabia and other countries in the Persian Gulf are the main export destinations for handmade carpets in the province.

Ghafouri Moghaddam stated:
A large volume of the province’s products is exported from other export outlets of the country. In order to determine and document the actual amount of hand-woven carpet exports in the province, traders are advised to export their products from the province’s customs.
