Export of 70% of Pyaram dates from Hormozgan province
The head of horticulture management of Hormozgan Agricultural Jihad Organization, stating that the product of Pyaram dates has been introduced as the best cultivar in the country, said: about 70% of this type of date is exported abroad.
Amir Hamzeh Bahari added: Russia, UAE, Germany, Canada, Malaysia, Pakistan and Turkey are among the major countries to which more than 83% of the total exports of Pyaram dates are sent to these countries.
The head of horticulture management of Hormozgan Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization stated: the harvest date of Pyaram dates in the province is six thousand tons and more than 95% of it is produced in Hajiabad city.
He stated: the existence of 4,000 hectares of abandoned and forested date palms, excessive density of date palms, lack of refrigeration facilities, warehouses suitable for wet areas in the province, inadequate supply and demand in domestic markets are among the problems of production and sale of Pyaram dates. .
Bahari said: Considering the investment policies in the field of agriculture and especially in the field of dates, construction of processing factories, packaging of dates and replacement of worn-out orchards through plant tissue are among the measures that can be taken for sustainable development of date fruit and its flourishing.
The area of Hormozgan gardens is 74,000 hectares, the groves have the highest area after citrus.
