Export of a shipment of caviar from Gilan to Italy

The director general of Gilan Veterinary said: the export of a shipment of caviar from Gilan to Italy was done as a sample.

Dr. Ali Moaf Bashari, pointing out that Gilan province exports 6 species of aquatic animals, said: These species include live fish, farmed fish such as carp and amur, juvenile fish, sturgeon meat and ten long legs of fresh water (a type of crab).

We exported 247 kilograms of farmed fish and sturgeon to the United Arab Emirates this year, he said, adding that 36 tons of ten long-legged freshwater fish were also exported from Gilan to Belgium, France and Italy.

He continued: Also, a shipment of caviar was synthesized and sample was exported to Italy from Gilan.

Dr. Bashari, stating that sturgeon meat has been exported from Gilan to Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, said: Iraq is also a customer of farmed fish in Gilan.

Referring to the existence of an equipped laboratory in Gilan Veterinary, he noted: This laboratory has been approved by Europe since 1999 and due to the modernity of this laboratory, this license is renewed every few years.

The director general of Gilan Veterinary stated that since the exported food must be very fresh to reach the European Union immediately, he clarified: If this laboratory was in Tehran, the export of this fish would be stopped because the material is fresh due to the passage of time. It does not stay and the existence of this laboratory has caused an increase in the aquatic exports of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
