During a visit to Sweden by the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Chamber of Commerce, Seyed Naeem Emami announced a memorandum of understanding for the province’s carpet exports to Sweden and Scandinavian countries.
He mentioned attending the 2018 exhibition in Sweden, environmental advertising in the Scandinavian region and broadcasting the documentary of the province’s carpets on Swedish television and social networks as other achievements of the delegation’s visit to Sweden.
Emami also said in a meeting with representatives of the Swedish TL carpet importing company: “It was decided that a group of carpet designers from Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari will redesign the province’s handmade carpets in the shortest possible time and produce them in order to market them abroad.”
During a visit to Sweden by the province’s trade delegation, Swedish researcher Petrovilburg, author of the book Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Carpet, was honored.
Currently, about 100,000 carpet weavers have been identified in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, 50 percent of whom have been organized in the form of nine rural carpet cooperatives, two urban carpet weaving cooperatives, and one union.
Most of the province’s carpets are made by Yelmeh Boroujen, Gabbeh Rizbaf Ardal, Bakhtiari carpets in nomadic and Bakhtiari areas and Chaleshtari carpets in Shahrekord.
