The horticulture director of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of South Kerman said: about 200 tons of rose water has been extracted from the flower gardens of this region.
Mansour Sharif, pointing out that the southern region is one of the producers of Damask rose in Kerman province, added: The main flower gardens of southern Kerman are located in Jabalbarz, Sardoyeh and Esfahdah districts of Jiroft city, which due to the climate and water And their special weather is affordable to produce flowers in these areas.
He said: Damask rose cultivation area in this area is 310 hectares, of which 300 hectares are fertile.
Sharif, stating that the yield of petals per hectare is about one ton, said: more than 247 tons of flowers have been harvested this year from the gardens of southern Kerman.
He added: Damask rose ‘s main products include rose water, essential oils and dried petals, and Damask rose is used in the pharmaceutical, perfume, food and health and cosmetics industries.
Sharif said the Rose water plant, which produces and packs about 26 types of liqueurs.
He pointed out that about 700 tons of liqueurs have been produced in this factory this year, adding: Every year, most of the liqueurs and rose water produced in the city of Jiroft are supplied to the country’s markets.
