Fars share of 20% of Iran’s handmade carpet exports
Speaking on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the 16th province’s hand-woven carpet exhibition, the head of the Fars Industry, Mining and Trade Organization said that the exhibition is a good opportunity to introduce this glorious industry and art. “About 51 manufacturers, exporters and activists in the field of carpets Handmade from the provinces of East Azerbaijan, Qom, Fars, Isfahan, Khorasan Razavi, Gilan, Golestan, Bushehr, Kerman, Yazd, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Semnan, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad and Tehran have presented their products and products in this exhibition.
Hamidreza Izadi added: “In this exhibition, the result of the taste and talent of carpet industry activists in the form of all-silk carpets, kilim weaving, Gabbeh, Jajim, felt of Bijar carpet, rural and nomadic carpets, Bakhtiari carpet and carpet weaving requirements are displayed.”
He mentioned the support of artists and producers of handmade carpets as one of the most important priorities of Fars Province Industry, Mining and Trade Organization and continued: “It is necessary to expand and strengthen the art and industry of carpets, which plays an important role in currency and employment.” And pay special attention to competition in global markets and participation in international exhibitions.
The head of Fars Industry, Mining and Trade Organization added: “Fars province’s handmade carpets are diverse and one of the most exquisite Iranian carpets, which has many enthusiasts in the world, including Qashqai, Khamseh, Basri, Afshar, Abadeh, Lori and Arabic Baft carpets.” Shows the superiority of the province over other provinces.
Supporting the production of handmade carpets is a step towards expanding global markets
The head of Fars Industry, Mining and Trade Organization said that supporting producers and improving the level of production and quality of handmade carpet industry and art is an effective step to promote and develop it in the major global markets and said: 275 handmade carpet manufacturers are currently operating in the province. .
Izadi added: “Every year, about 170,000 weavers in the province produce more than 180,000 square meters of handmade carpets, and so far, carpet weaving cards have been issued for 126,390 people in this province.”
He continued: “Also, more than 31,000 weavers in this province are covered by weavers’ insurance, of which 7,000 are related to Shiraz city.”
He stated: Last year, Fars province accounted for 20% of the total share of the country’s carpet exports.
The head of Fars Industry, Mining and Trade Organization said: Fars province carpet has many buyers and fans in the world due to mental weaving and natural dyes and to countries such as China, Pakistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Germany, Australia, England, Indonesia, Italy, Turkey. And Greece is exported.
