In different parts of Ardabil province, kilim is woven from natural raw materials and strong woolen threads with happy and various colors, and for this reason, it has more customers.

He adds: “The most important feature of kilims produced in Ardabil province is its two-sided role, meaning that the viewer cannot recognize its back and front, and this kilim has a special flexibility due to the type of yarn used and the type of texture.”

He noted that the export of kilims from Ardabil province to countries such as Germany, Japan and the Caucasus countries flourished in the early 1990s, adding: “This trend has recently declined again.”
Commenting on the reasons for the decline in Ardabil kilim exports, the manufacturer said: “Unfortunately, some traders exported kilims woven with chemical raw materials due to their cheapness and making more profit in the name of genuine Iranian kilims, unaware that they will eventually harm their market.” .
