Forecast of harvesting 1500 tons of walnuts in Gilan
The director of horticulture affairs of Gilan Jihad Agricultural Organization said: it is predicted that 1,500 tons of walnuts will be harvested in Gilan.
Manouchehr Parsafar said: In Gilan, 17,330 gardeners are active in walnut production and now they have started harvesting this product from their gardens.
He added: Gilan has 3,875 hectares of walnut orchards and it is expected that 1,500 tons of walnuts will be harvested in Gilan.
Parsafar continued: This year, gardeners will earn 1,470 billion rials by selling this amount of walnuts.
The director of horticulture affairs of Gilan Jihad Agricultural Organization pointed out: Walnut harvest continues until mid-November.
Parsafar added: Due to the untimely cold of spring this year in the mountains of Gilan, walnut production is expected to decrease.
He specified: Rudbar, Amlash, Talesh, Siahkal and Rudsar are important cities for walnut production in Gilan.
