Razavi, director of Jihad Keshavarzi in Khosf city, said: This year, about 100 hectares of lands in Khosf city are under saffron cultivation.

He pointed out that last year the area under saffron cultivation in Khosf city was about 93 hectares, he added: Last year, about 350 kg of dry saffron was harvested from this amount of cultivated area.

Razavi specified: about 4 kg of dry saffron is harvested from each hectare under saffron cultivation in Khosf city.

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Khosf city, stating that the time of planting saffron is September, said: The time period for harvesting saffron is late November to late December.

He stated: There are 640 saffron farmers in the valley of this city.

Razavi continued: It is predicted that this year the income of saffron farmers in this city will be about 3 billion and 300 million Tomans.

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Khosf city stated: Saffron of this city is one of the best saffrons in the world due to its high active ingredient and the saffron of Khosf flower and freezing village is famous.

He added: Saffron is used as a medicinal plant, tea and food flavoring.
