Forecast of production of more than 3000 tons of tea in Mazandaran

Deputy Minister of Crop Production Improvement of Mazandaran Agricultural Jihad said: It is predicted that about 3,500 tons of tea will be produced in Mazandaran this year.

Yahya Abtali stated: The area under tea cultivation this year in the province is 3,100 hectares.

He added: 5,150 tea operators are working in the province.

The Deputy Minister of Crop Production Improvement of Mazandaran Agricultural Jihad reminded: 10 factories are active in the tea discussion in the province.

Abtali, pointing out that one thousand tons of tea has been harvested in the province so far, said: 90% of this amount is first grade and 10% is second grade.

He added: Trade and marketing is one of the most important demands of Mazandaran tea growers, and arrangements have been made in this regard.

Mazandaran Agricultural Jihad Deputy for Plant Production Improvement stated: The demands of the province’s tea growers were paid last year and the tea growers are delivering the first tea to China.

Abtali stated that in the discussion of improvement, revitalization and reconstruction of tea gardens, facilities have been considered for tea growers, he said: these facilities are in line with increasing production per unit area and increasing the quality of this product.
