The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Sangroukliai city predicted: more than five thousand tons of Sanghari seeds will be produced in this city this year

Farshad Klond, stating that 2530 hectares of sunflower nuts have been planted in Sangroukliai city this year, said: The average yield of sunflower nuts is two tons per hectare, although in some farms the yield reaches 3.5 to four tons per hectare.

Klond predicted: This year, more than five thousand tons of sanghari seeds will be produced in the city of sangharokliai.

He said that the sunflower produced in the city of Sangroukliai, known as Sanghari seed, has many fans, and said: the product of the city is sent to all provinces of the country and even abroad.

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Sangroukliai city continued: the sunflower cultivar cultivated in this city is mainly white with thin skin, which has a special taste due to the good weather conditions in the city.

Klond then stated that sunflower nuts are one of the dominant products of spring cultivation in Sangroukliai city, which is also considered as a kind of city brand, and said: no product in Sangroukliai city can compete with Sanghari seeds in terms of income generation.

Referring to the restrictions on the export of agricultural products, Klond added: In the last crop year, due to high cultivation and export restrictions, the price of the product has dropped sharply.

According to Klond, last year, Songhari seeds were offered at a price of between 35 and 40 thousand Tomans per kilogram.

The only problem that has plagued the cultivation of sunflower nuts in recent years is the ‘broom’ pest, Klond said. This pest is an important factor limiting plant growth and affecting the performance of sunflower fields.

In the end, he said that the time of planting sunflower nuts in the city of Sangroukliai is in April and mainly in May, he said: the harvest of Sanghari seeds has started in late September and will continue until early November.
