Hossein Abbaszadeh said: One of the first human needs was the existence of a suitable substructure, and Gabbeh is one of the first human achievements to meet this need, which is woven in different parts of the world to this day.

He added: Gabbeh is a type of carpet with long piles that can be found in different parts of Iran, including the Ghainat region in South Khorasan.

Deputy Minister of Handicrafts and Cultural Heritage of South Khorasan stated: Gabbeh is like a knotted and hand-woven rug, which dates back to before the production of carpets in terms of the social needs of human societies, the possibility of rapid transfer and especially the mental texture of its designs.

Abbaszadeh continued: This hand-woven fabric is made of a smaller carpet and has a lower tissue density and is produced on earthen poles with dimensions of approximately 200 x 100 and 200 x 120 cm.

He continued by stating that the tools and equipment of Gabbeh weaving are similar to carpets: the warp and weft of high quality rugs are more Turkish than the wool and the type of knot used.

The Deputy Minister of Handicrafts of South Khorasan Cultural Heritage said: Designs such as pine, vase, rugs, bird flower, cloud flower, Kashmiri flower, Fatah … Khani, mirror flower, Zuzani, Padraz, Maddkhani, Kashan flower and animal motifs, including Leopard, peacock, camel is one of the famous maps of South Khorasan.

Abbaszadeh added: Common designs in the margins of this hand-woven can also be referred to as Cheng Chehel Chicken and Ya Ali .

He reminded: mass production of this handicraft is in Zirkuh city and its subordinate villages, but in other cities of the province such as Sarbisheh, Khosf, Nehbandan, Ghainat, Sarayan also produce this handicraft.
