Global registration of Gabbeh and Qashqai Fars carpet
The head of the hand-woven carpet department of Fars Province Mining Industry and Trade Organization said: Qashqai and Gabbeh Fars carpets were registered in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
Nikram Manteghi said: The certificate of global registration of Qashqai and Gabbeh carpets of Fars province will be unveiled on the 17th of Bahman, simultaneously with the opening of the 13th Fars hand-woven carpet exhibition.
He pointed out that the export of hand-woven carpets in Fars province accounts for 14% of the total exports of Iranian carpets, noting that with the spiritual and global registration of Qashqai and Gabbeh carpets, the possibility of forging and copying these two handicraft products will disappear.
Manteghi considered the boom in the export of Qashqai and Gabbeh carpets as other benefits of the intellectual and global registration of these two products and said: The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is one of the 16 specialized UN agencies based in Stockholm, Sweden and from The year 1967 began with the aim of recording and encouraging creative works to support the intellectual property of works of art and handicrafts.
He reminded: Abadeh, Lori-woven, Arab, Qashqai, Gabbeh and Kashkoli, 6 products of hand-woven carpets in Fars province are considered to be woven and produced in different geographical areas of this province.
Manteghi said: Even now, despite the fact that the production of handicrafts, especially carpets and rugs, has historical roots in Iran, countries such as Pakistan, India and Nepal produce and market these products; Therefore, the spiritual registration of these products can pave the way for further prosperity in the export of Iranian carpets and hand-woven products in international markets.
