Grape harvest from 12,000 hectares of orchards in Kurdistan
The director of horticultural affairs of Jihad Keshavarzi of Kurdistan province said: this year, it is predicted that one hundred and eleven thousand tons of grapes will be harvested from the vineyards of Kurdistan province.
Pourhabibi enumerated the grape cultivars produced in Kurdistan province including raisins, Asgari, Fakhri Khoshnav and Rash and added: Qorveh, Sanandaj, Kamyaran, Marivan, Bijar and Baneh counties are the main centers of grape production in Kurdistan province.
He added: The average production of grapes in water gardens of Kurdistan province is about eleven tons and in rainfed gardens is four tons per hectare.
Pourhabibi pointed to the employment of more than twenty-five thousand people in this field and said: it is predicted that they will earn two hundred billion tomans this year.
In the end, the director of horticulture of Jihad Keshavarzi in Kurdistan province added: It is predicted that the grape harvest in Kurdistan province will grow by 15% this year.
