Grape harvest from 1500 hectares of rain-fed vineyards in Kazerun
Hamid Rashidi, director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Kazerun city, stated that the harvesting operation of rain-fed grapes has started from 1,500 hectares of vineyards in Kazerun city, and said: the harvesting operation will continue until the end of August.
The official clarified: It is expected that 2,250 tons of rain-fed grapes will be harvested from the vineyards of this city this year and sent to the consumer market.
He considered the old gardens, the lack of conversion and complementary industries and the low financial strength of farmers as the most important problems facing this product.
Rashidi added: Shirazi, Yaghouti, Askari, Naloni are among the dry grape cultivars in Kazerun and each hectare of dry grapes in this city creates permanent employment for one person and temporary employment for three people.
Kazerun city is located 120 km away from Shiraz.
