Grape harvest in Shadegan increases by 10%
Khajeh, director of Shadegan Agricultural Jihad, explained: Since yesterday, the harvest of 55 hectares of Shadegan vineyards has been started by Shadegan farmers.
This year’s harvest of grapes is 10 percent higher than last year’s, he added.
Last year, 6 to 8 tons of grapes were harvested per hectare, and this year this amount has reached eight to 10 tons per hectare, Khajeh said.
We have three projects underway to increase the area of vineyards as well as increase the yield of Shadegan grapes, he said.
The director of Shadegan Agricultural Jihad reminded: We plan to increase the tonnage of the crop by implementing technical recommendations in the vineyards.
We will also increase the intermediate levels of grapes in the groves, he said. Last year, grapes were harvested on 20 hectares of Shadegan groves.
This year, another 20 to 30 hectares of Shadegan groves will be planted with grapes, Khajeh said.
He stated: Shadegan grapes are of ruby and royal type and always in the harvest season, 20% of the crop is harvested as the best and 80% as the grapes.
