Malayer in Hamedan province is the birthplace of grape and its products, namely raisins and juice.
What adds to the charm of this city and the surrounding villages are the straps that can be seen in some rooms of old houses
with wooden beam ceilings.
Grape are hung from these straps to dry in the shade, which is called dry shade.
The spikes are spread on thatched ground to dry in direct sunlight.
On December 31, 2016, the Malayer grape production system was registered with the United Nations
World Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
Malayer Jozan Valley grape production system is 700 years old and more than 240,000 tons of grape are harvested
annually from about 11,000 hectares of orchards.
