Habib Jahansaz had: Despite the cold damage at the beginning of this year’s harvest season, the green tea leaf harvest is in a good condition in terms of quality and quantity due to the weather conditions and summer rains, and the green leaf harvest from the northern gardens continues.

He pointed out: So far, 78,929 tons of green tea leaves have been purchased from tea growers in the north of the country, of which 61% are first grade green leaves and 39% are second grade green leaves.

He mentioned the Rial value of green leaves purchased from tea growers as 253 billion Tomans and noted: So far, 80% of the receivables, ie 194 billion Tomans, have been transferred to the tea growers’ accounts, and the payment of receivables has better conditions than in previous years.

He specified: 19 thousand and 784 tons of quality dry tea have been produced and supplied in Gilan and Mazandaran tea making units so far.

Gilan province has about 180 tea-making units, of which about 150 units have signed a contract with the Tea Organization for the guaranteed purchase of green leaves.

Each kilogram of first grade green leaves is priced at 36,000 Rials and second grade green leaves are priced at 22,000 Rials this year.

Gilan and Mazandaran provinces have between 25,000 and 28,000 hectares of tea gardens, 90% of which are located in Gilan province. About 50,000 tea farming families are active in green leaf production, and 100,000 households earn their living and income through tea growing. .
