Hamedan handmade carpet has been registered worldwide
The head of the National Carpet of Iran said: Hamedan handwoven carpets have been registered worldwide and Nahavand carpets have been registered nationally and Kaboudrahang and Malayer carpets are also being followed up for national registration.
Fereshteh Dastpak, on the sidelines of holding handmade carpet exhibitions in Hamedan, added: “Exporting Iranian carpets to China is one of the programs that is being seriously pursued, and if it is implemented, we will see a great opening in the country’s carpet industry.”
He said that the production of carpets has not been a problem for the government, noting that the government has not taken any special measures to support carpet weavers, but today it is planned to hold carpet working groups in the provinces because Carpets have the highest employment rate.
Dastpak added: with the least investment, the highest added value can be created in handmade carpets; Therefore, despite the bad situation of the economic war, the situation of handmade carpets has always been the first word in the economic development of the country.
He noted that 80 percent of the country’s hand-woven carpet products are exported: “Consultations were held with 15 countries to expand exports.”
He added that if carpet exports to China flourish as a large economy, there will be a big opening in the country’s handmade carpets.
The head of the National Carpet Center of Iran, stating that 3 million and 500 thousand square meters of carpets are woven annually in the country, said: 2 million people are active in this profession.
