Director General of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of Lorestan said: In the fourth round of international judging of the quality of handicrafts, Lorestan is in the seventh place among 31 provinces of the country with 4 awards.

He added that Lorestan won a total of 4 medals in the 2008 and 2010 judgments: In 2008, the first quality award for handicrafts was awarded to the late Mohammad Reza Kakavandi, a Khorramabadi craftsman in the field of traditional instruments.
Ghorbani pointed out that in 2010 Ahmad Qaliani and Farhad Rafiei Manesh, two craftsmen from Boroujerdi and Mohammad Hassan Kakavand from Khorramabad, achieved this honor in the field of making musical instruments, and specified: The growing trend of receiving this award in judging 2012 not only in the field of making traditional instruments but also in the field of painting on glass and traditional ornaments shows the quality of the province’s handicraft products in more diverse fields and the welcome of craftsmen to participate in this international competition.
He emphasized: Receiving these awards by Lorestani craftsmen not only shows the creativity, innovation, ability and skill of the artists of this country, but also shows their self-confidence at the international level.
The General Director of Lorestan Cultural Heritage stated: In addition to promoting Lorestan handicrafts in terms of quality and quality in the world, receiving these awards will boost exports in this field.
He said: The position of Lorestan craftsmen with a rich historical background is in the top three provinces of the country; In the not-too-distant future, the Deputy Handicrafts of the General Directorate plans to guide craftsmen to receive more medals in other indigenous fields of the province.
