The director of Jihad Keshavarzi Gulogah said: it is predicted that 10 kilograms of saffron will be harvested from 3 hectares of saffron farms in this city.
Gholamreza Ghanbari announced the increase in the desire of farmers in the mountainous areas of Gulugah city to cultivate saffron and said: This year, 3 hectares of agricultural lands in the upstream areas of the city were allocated to saffron cultivation.
He pointed out that the average yield of saffron in this city is three to four kilograms per hectare, adding: it is expected that 10 kilograms of saffron will be harvested from these lands and sent to the market for consumption.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Gulugah city stated: Last year, 2.5 hectares of lands in this city were allocated for saffron cultivation and 8 kilograms of saffron were harvested from these lands.
He specified: a saffron production unit in a greenhouse with an area of 300 square meters with a production capacity of 5 kg is operating in this city.
The official continued: Avard, Vazvar, Niala and Aghordreh villages of this city are prone to saffron cultivation and its level is expanding every year due to economic efficiency.
