Harvest 23 tons of grapes per hectare garden in Semnan
The director of horticulture affairs of the Jihad Agriculture Organization of Semnan province
announced the harvest of 23 tons of crop on average from each hectare of vineyards in the province.
Lotfollah Rezaei stated that the average production of grapes in the country is 12 tons per hectare and added:
this amount is about twice the national average in the province.
He added:
in addition to 4,470 hectares of orchards in the province is dedicated to the cultivation of grape cultivars and last year from more
than 3,700 hectares of fertile orchards in the province amounted to 86,700 tons of crops,
which compared to the previous year grew by two percent had.
Rezaei stated:
The dominant cultivar of grape cultivation in the province is Sorkh Fakhri Shahroudi cultivar,
which occupies 70% of the area under cultivation of vineyards in the province.
The director of horticulture affairs of the Jihad Agriculture Organization of the province reminded:
Lal, Sefid Fakhri, Khalili, Asgari, Rish Baba, Sahebi, Shahani are the other dominant grape cultivars in the province.
Regarding the harvest time of different grape cultivars in the province, Rezaei said:
The harvest of early cultivars such as rubies has started in early June and the harvest of the latest grapes in the province,
which is the red wine, will continue until the end of November.
Warehousing is high and in the last seasons of the year is present in most sales centers and due to its durability,
it has the property of exporting to Caspian countries.
